Livestrong® at the YMCA
Currently available only at the Monmouth-Independence YMCA
This 12-week exercise and group support program focuses on improving the survivor’s strength, fitness, and quality of life. In addition to physical benefits, the program also focuses on the emotional well-being of survivors and their families. Livestrong at the YMCA provides a supportive community where people impacted by cancer can connect during treatment and beyond. Participation is free and includes membership at the YMCA for the duration of the program.
Researchers have found that participants experienced significant increases in physical activity, overall quality of life, and fitness performance as well as decreases in cancer-related fatigue.*
