What's Going on at the Lewis Street Location?
Rise Yoga classes are currently taking place in the building on Saturdays. Our full Grand Opening is planned for April, and we’re excited to welcome the community soon. Stay tuned for updates!
The Armory Building, our long-time home, is no longer available. While we continue to operate the Silverton City Pool, its use is limited to aquatic activities and cannot support the wide range of community programs we offer—or hope to grow. As we serve more people than ever before, we urgently need a welcoming, flexible facility to support programming and sustain our growing impact.
Located at 403 Lewis Street, the building (formerly a CrossFit gym) is a centrally located, nearly 4,000-square-foot facility that will serve as a YMCA space. It offers us an immediate solution to expand programs, improve access, and continue growing while we plan for a future full-scale community center.
Yes! Thanks to the generosity of the Larry and Jeanette Epping Family Foundation, the building has been purchased and donated to the YMCA. The community quickly mobilized to prepare the space, contributing approximately $400,000 in gifts and in-kind support for furnishings and equipment in just one month. The response has been remarkable and reflects both the generosity of the community and strong demand for expanded YMCA programs.
We will launch and expand programs including:
- Health & wellness classes for all ages (e.g. yoga, mat Pilates, and senior fitness)
- Membership and hours designed for middle school students
- STEM, music, and arts enrichment
- Multi-generational family programming
- Flexible space for partner organizations and events including YoungLife and WyldLife
No. The Lewis Street location is a temporary solution—an important next step as we work toward building a permanent, full-scale YMCA community center. The Y @ Lewis Street serves as a connection between where we’ve been and where we’re headed. It allows us to expand programs now while laying the foundation for a long-term, sustainable future.
Our vision for the future includes a dedicated YMCA facility with expanded program space, including a gymnasium and field space to support youth sports, community activities, and healthy living for all.

We are still finalizing the fee structure, but YMCA members can expect reduced rates on classes and programs offered at the Lewis Street facility. As always, the Y is committed to keeping programs affordable and accessible for all. More details on pricing will be shared as we get closer to opening.
Because we are growing together. A new YMCA facility means:

- Deeper community partnerships
- A vibrant, inclusive hub for everyone

Micro Programming at the Y
YMCA Micro Programs are small-group, themed enrichment classes designed specifically for preschool-aged children. Each program runs for 5 weeks, meeting once per week for 45 minutes, and focuses on hands-on learning through play, creativity, movement, and exploration.
Micro Programs are designed for children ages 3-5 years old.
Each Micro Program runs for 5 consecutive weeks, with one 45-minute class per week. Programs may be offered on different days depending on the theme and branch schedule. Please check the specific program listing for exact dates and the day of the week that the program meets.
We offer a variety of engaging themes such as:
- STEM Lab
- Music & Rhythm
- Adventure Quest
- Animal Explorers
- Art & Play
- Story Studio
- Nature Creations
- Move & Groove
- Fairytale Friends
- Little Heroes
- Micro Soccer
- Micro Basketball
No experience is needed! Micro Programs are designed as introductory, beginner-friendly experiences that focus on participation, fun, and skill-building in a supportive environment.
When doing a sports program, children should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for movement. For all other programs, children should wear clothes that can get messy, as they will be doing art activities.
We ask that parents please stay during the 45 minute class. There is a lounge area where parents can sit during the class.
Micro Programs support social-emotional growth, listening and following directions, fine and gross motor skills, creativity and imagination, and early problem-solving and teamwork. All programs align with the YMCA’s commitment to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
